Going Strong

Following the success of our November event, Union Project and New Sun Rising are already planning the first Soup N’at of 2016! We’re gathering tasty soup and creative artists for the next Soup N’at on Sunday, February 28th from 6:00-8:00pm. The event will continue to fund local artists through a volunteer-run community dinner, while opening the stage to musicians, and poets of all kinds.

In November, the winning project by popular vote was Cole Hoyer-Winfeld and the team behind the Etcetera Print Exchange. The Etcetera Print Exchange brings together artists and community through the distribution of print works. You can read more about their project here. Cole had the following to say about the night.

“We had a wonderful evening with the crowd at Soup N’At, hosted by the Union Project and New Sun Rising on November 22nd. Our project was presented alongside several other inspiring artist groups vying for the funds raised by the evening’s visitors. It was fantastic to see so many people out on a cold evening to learn about different art projects in the cities and communities of all kinds. After much anticipation, softened by beautiful live music and some insightful spoken word, we learned that Etcetera Print Exchange had won the vote! As a result of this event we received seed funding for the beginning of our project, and it couldn’t have been at a better time. This money is being put towards several areas of our efforts, beginning with our website, etcprintexchange.com.”

Get the latest update from Etcetera Print Exchange and cast your ballot for the next Soup N’at artist at our next Soup N’at dinner on February 28th, 2016 at Union Project.

Do you have an idea that just might be crazy enough to work? Artists of all media are encouraged to apply here by February 15th. Good Luck!
